BABYLON THE GREAT (Part 10)
UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION NUMBER 666
This number 666 mentioned in the prophecy of Revelation 13:16–18, is an extremely precise landmark in the chronology of events, in order to know the moment when the destruction of Babylon the Great begins and the period mentioned by Jesus Christ in Matthew 24:29. This number 666 allows us to know when Jehovah God put in the heart of the image of the wild beast, the idea of starting to destroy Babylon the Great (This process is explained after):
“It puts under compulsion all people — the small and the great, the rich and the poor, the free and the slaves — that these should be marked on their right hand or on their forehead, and that nobody can buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name. This is where it calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number, and its number is 666” (Revelation 13:16–18).
Before knowing the important idea of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 666, it is interesting to know that this Resolution 666 has been elaborated within a series of 12 United Nations Security Council Resolutions that would result in the “fall of Babylon the Great” and the beginning of the destruction of it: “Babylon” that is Iraq (United Nations Security Council Resolutions 660, 661, 662, 664, 665, 666, 667, 669, 670, 674, 677, 678). The general idea of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 666, is exactly the prophetic expression of Revelation 13:18 that shows the image of the wild beast would have the “authority” by mean the prophet to decide who could “buy and sell”…
The United Nations Security Council Resolution 666 (extract): “United Nations Security Council Resolution 666, adopted on September 13, 1990, after recalling resolutions 661 (1990) and 664 (1990) which discussed the humanitarian situation in Iraq and Kuwait and the detention of nationals from foreign countries, the Council decided to ask the Security Council Committee to determine if humanitarian needs have arisen and to keep the situation under review. At the same time, it expected Iraq to comply with its obligations under international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention, relating to the safety and detainment of third-state nationals in Iraq and occupied Kuwait” (Wikipedia United Nations Security Council Resolution 666).
If we compare the terms of this resolution 666 (including the resolution 661), with Revelation 13: 16–18, the similarity is striking because the prophecy evokes an “embargo” against those who do not have the “mark” of the wild beast or does not respect the human sovereignty in its nationalist and patriotic dimension.
It is the UN Resolution 678 (November 29, 1990), which will authorize the military coalition of 33 countries, to destroy by massive bombardments, Iraq, the place of origin of Babylon the Great, the city which was the cradle false worship, by the first Gulf War (Desert Storm (January 17, 1991 — February 28, 1991)). It was the beginning, as an epicenter, of the destruction of Babylon the Great, until God considered this prophecy to be fully fulfilled, just before the Great Tribulation (Revelation 17, 18 and 19: 1–3). This massive destruction is the confirmation that the wild beast is not a “political” entity, but rather a military entity that causes havoc, like a “wild” beast that hurts and kills (Revelation 17:15–18). This similarity is a prophetic landmark that allows us to understand that this first of the Golf War against Iraq, the ancient cradle of Babylon the Great, is the starting point for the general destruction of Satan’s sovereignty on earth. Babylon the Great is the global symbol of this earthly sovereignty.
The interesting point is this: while Satan the devil created the “image of the beast” with the purpose to fight against the integrity of the Holy Ones (Revelation 20:4), Jehovah God used this same “image of the beast”, through his number 666, to fight against Babylon the Great. In the context of Revelation chapter 13, these sanctions, against those who do not have the mark of the wild beast, were to apply to the “holy ones”, the true worshipers (See Revelation 13:7,8). But by combining Revelation 13 with chapter 17: 16–18, God made Satan and his system fall into the hole that they themselves had dug. God put in the heart of the image of the wild beast to destroy the capital of false worship, by initiating at the same time a process of general self-destruction of the whole of human sovereignty on earth: “With the pure you show yourself pure, But with the crooked you show yourself shrewd” (Psalms 18:26).

This worldwide declaration took place on March 6, 1991, by the speech on the “New World Order”. It seems to be the beginning of the time corresponding to the description of Christ, in Matthew 24:29.

The coalition of nations currently attacking the people of God comes from the territorial areas corresponding to “Japheth”, Russia, China some Asian countries, as well as “Cham”, corresponding to some African countries where Christians suffer from severe persecution.
The Prophecy of Daniel of the Two Kings
The Study of the Prophecy of Daniel chapters 11 and 12, about the outcome of the conflict between the king of the north and the king of the south, provides a better understanding of the dramatic events that are currently taking place in the Middle East.
It is at the same time a “political” and a “religious” worldwide kingdom, because it symbolizes the human sovereignty which challenged the sovereignty of God on earth.
It is the “end” and the definitive destruction of the present system of things, according to Matthew 24:21 and Daniel 12:1.
According to the prophecy of Zechariah 14, that the great tribulation will last only one day, in Ethanim, 10 (Tishri) (Jewish Biblical Calendar (September/October)) (Revelation 11:19).
The great tribulation will also be the beginning of a planetary jubilee, Ethanim, 10 (Tishri).
According to the Prophecy of Daniel 8:23–25, there is the description of the last king (his face and behavior), in the time just before the Great Tribulation.
Jehovah God will protect His People, the Great Crowd that will come out of the Great Tribulation (Revelation 7:9–17).
