The number 40 in the Bible is often connected with completeness in time. The Israelites were punished for 40 years of wandering in the wilderness: “The Israelites had walked for 40 years in the wilderness until the entire nation had died off, that is, the men of war who left Egypt who did not obey the voice of Jehovah. Jehovah swore to them that he would never let them see the land that Jehovah had sworn to their forefathers to give to us, a land flowing with milk and honey” (Exodus 16:35 ; Joshua 5:6).

Jesus Christ fasted after his baptism, for 40 days in the wilderness: “After he had fasted for 40 days and 40 nights, he felt hungry” (Matthew 4:2).

It is the “end” and the definitive destruction of the present system of things, according to Matthew 24:21 and Daniel 12:1.

According to the prophecy of Zechariah 14, that the great tribulation will last only one day, in Ethanim, 10 (Tishri) (Jewish Biblical Calendar (September/October)) (Revelation 11:19).

The Planetary Jubilee

The great tribulation will also be the beginning of a planetary jubilee, Ethanim, 10 (Tishri).

The Last King

According to the Prophecy of Daniel 8:23–25, there is the description of the last king (his face and behavior), in the time just before the Great Tribulation.

The Prophecy Of Zechariah

Jehovah God will protect His People, the Great Crowd that will come out of the Great Tribulation (Revelation 7:9–17).
